With a deep passion for movement, mindset, and the outdoors, I bring a holistic approach to coaching that goes beyond the wall. After years in olympic weightlifting, I found climbing and believe it's more than a sport — it's a journey to radical self-discovery. I'm dedicated to helping athletes develop strength, confidence, and a love for the process. When not coaching, you'll find me on a project, in a hot yoga class, or dreaming about the next adventure.
I have been climbing since late 2021 but it quickly became an obsession. I enjoy coaching our recreational, advanced and competitive teams — it's so fun watching each kid become a better climber and reach their goals. I hope to provide an encouraging and supportive environment for each climber to have fun and be challenged. Outside of climbing you'll find me on road-trips, hiking, and pretty much anything outdoors.
I love life and climbing is one of the most important things in it. I started rock climbing in 2020 when I discovered Gecko for the first time — this place significantly helped build my relationship with movement. I spend most of my time in nature making art, experiencing life and reading books. The world is a jungle gym of beauty. I'm grateful to be part of the Gecko coaching community and love sharing my knowledge with young athletes.

Hailing from Iowa, I moved to Colorado in 2018 where I discovered my love for climbing and started routesetting for local gyms and developing crags including Piedra Canyon and Castlewood Canyon. My wife and I found Gecko in 2024 and fell in love with the gym and the community. Outside climbing I trail run with my wife and dogs Pepper and Eldo, record folk music, and grill something delicious.
I have been climbing since I could stand — there are pictures to prove it! I love that climbing is great for mobility and strength while still being incredibly fun. When I'm not at the gym, I'm dancing in classes or performing, or devouring my newest books. I love inviting young athletes into the wonderful world of climbing.
I picked up climbing in May of 2023 and have been wildly addicted ever since. I love figuring out how to do climbs, breaking beta, and expanding skills in both bouldering and lead climbing. Outside the gym you'll find me with friends — playing video games, board games, or watching sports. I love the community here and having the opportunity to welcome young athletes into climbing.
I got into climbing looking for a new challenge and a different style of exercise. I greatly enjoy overhang, crack climbing, sport, and trad. I started out teaching Krav Maga and those teaching skills transitioned naturally into coaching climbing. Outside of the gym I'm a bush pilot and competitive shooter — everything I do is a shared adventure with family and friends.
I got into rock climbing to better my body and mind and to give myself a daily challenge. I really enjoy climbing because of the community and the positive motivation around me. When I'm not climbing, I love to cook, bake, hike, travel and volunteer. I also love tattoos and the stories they tell!
Climbing has been a big passion of mine for around 3 years. It's unique because it challenges anyone at any skill level, and the coordination, physical strength, and mental motivation it builds correlates to all areas of life. I love coaching and seeing people improve over time. Other hobbies include canyoneering, backpacking, pickleball, ultimate frisbee, and soccer!
